I’m Derick Nana-Yaw Oppong, the founder and creative force behind this vibrant artistic space dedicated to showcasing the rich beauty of African and Black culture through powerful visual storytelling.

As a visual artist, I immerse myself in various forms of creative expression—painting, drawing, sketching, video directing, photography, production, and web design. My work is deeply influenced by my Ghanaian roots, and every piece reflects the cultural richness that has shaped me into the artist I am today.

Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, I carry the stories, traditions, and energy of my homeland in everything I create. Now based in the USA, I’ve recognized the gap in understanding African and Ghanaian art, and through Berrysteeze.co, I aim to bridge that gap. My atelier is a platform to explore and celebrate the depth of African and Black culture, uniting people through shared experiences and creative expression.

At the core of my work lies my belief: "believing in something with much passion that it becomes reality." This mantra drives every artistic endeavor I pursue.

Looking to the future, I am dedicated to giving back by nurturing the next generation of African artists. I plan to open workshops that will empower young African creatives, helping them discover their talents and find their voice in the art world.
